Belgian Chocolate

Expand Belgian chocolate's horizons
Belgian chocolate is a favorite for many of us, but have you ever had the pleasure of trying Belgian chocolate that doesn't come in the form that you can put in a box? There are a lot of great recipes that you can incorporate Belgian chocolate into. You can use your imagination with some of the recipes that call for chocolate, just use Belgian chocolate. Here is a scrumptious recipe that will satisfy every urge for some Belgian chocolate:

6 oz. finely chopped bittersweet Belgian chocolate
3 eggs
3 egg yolks
3/4 cup unsalted butter, cup into pats
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbls Belgian dark beer
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
unsweetened cocoa

And for the cream:

1/4 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup whipping cream
2 tbls superfine sugar

Preheat the oven to 450 F and grease 6 custard cups. Sprinkle them with the unsweetened cocoa then set them on a baking sheet.

Combine the butter and the chocolate in a bowl and microwave on medium until melted (1-3 minutes), mix until smooth.

Beat the eggs, egg yolks, 1/2 cup of the sugar, beer with a whisk in a large bowl, then stir in the chocolate mixture and the flour.

Place the mixture into the custard cups.

Beat together all of the cream ingredients at medium-high speed until there are stiff peaks.

Bake the cakes for about 12 minutes until the tops are dry and edges start to pull away from the edges.

Put them on a wire rack and cover loosely with foil, let them stand for a few minutes.

They are best if served right away and with a huge dollop of whipped cream.

We hope you enjoy. Keep reading for more delicious recipes. And feel free to share with us. We would love to hear from you.
