German Chocolate Cakes

German chocolate cakes, as a rule, are hard to find. You don't see German chocolate cakes on restaurant menus, and you don't generally find ready-made German chocolate cakes at all grocery stores. That's not to say they aren't available, they're just not as easy to find as white cake or chocolate cake.

Finding German Chocolate Cakes
If you're craving German chocolate cake, don't expect to find it on many restaurant menus. You might find one in your grocery store or at a bakery, but it's rare. An easy way to get your German chocolate cake fix is to just buy a German chocolate cake mix and a couple of cans of coconut pecan frosting and "slave" away. (Making a cake from a mix isn't all that difficult.) The other way to do it is from scratch, but that's a little more involved. Some of them are still easy though. Simply do an Internet search and you're bound to find several easy recipes (or difficult, depending on your skill level and/or preference) for German chocolate cakes.

Of course, if you're not into baking, you can find German chocolate cakes online. Most of these are gourmet, and and can be given as gifts. They can be shipped to your home or shipped to someone else as a gift. (Just don't expect it to be there in 30 minutes or less.) In fact, we found a German chocolate cake that's a little different from most on chocolate.com. The emphasis of this decadent dessert is definitely on the chocolate. They also have a German chocolate cheesecake and a German chocolate scented candle. (This would make a great gift for the German chocolate cake lover who doesn't want the calories!)
